Biography
Dr. Saswati Paul is an Indian National currently residing in Seoul, South Korea for last 15 years. She is a Scientist with majors in Biotechnology, and specialization in Genomics, plant tissue culture, and subsequently diversification into Neuroscience area.
She did her Masters Degree at Guwahati University, India. She worked on Plant Biotechnology there while in her PhD at Hanyang University, South Korea, she worked on genomics and implications for environmental toxicants through mRNA analysis. Based on her PhD, she also delivered lectures in Genetic Counseling.
While being awarded brain Korea research fund, in her Brain Pool Post Doctoral study at Konkuk University, she explored neuroscience for cognitive behavior and brain functioning. She is widely published from her Masters as well as doctoral and Post Doctoral research projects. She was national fellowship holder for government of India for her research on orchid plantation and their sustainability under climatic changes. She did refereeing for Biochip Journal and attended meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, in USA in 2012. Recently, one of her widely cited paper was published as a book chapter in Frontier series publication. Her interest is in the intersection of science, technology and sustainable social impacts of advancement of science.
